I research in the areas of multimodality and everyday literacies, and I am especially interested in collaborative, participatory research with children and others. Using arts-informed, qualitative, and ethnographic methodologies, my work focuses on literacies-in-process and playful improvisation. I research how children use everyday texts (particularly images and popular culture) to connect with audiences both globally and locally, across home and school.
